Mr. Pulido, here is our last box score for 2001. I want to thank you again for all you do for our program and our community. There are many people out there that depend on you to see how the Jerseys are doing. It was a great year and I'am already looking forward to the challenge of reloading this team with new eager ball players.

Losing Pitcher: Brian Boerjan 11-2 and 29-4 for his H.S. career.
Leading Hitters: Keoki Guerra 1-2; Carlos Villarreal 1-3; Josh Cosby 1-3; Mike Gonzalez 1-1; Charlie Silva 2-3, 2 RBIs, 3b; Tom Villarreal 1-2; Trey Garcia 1-3.

From the Coach: This one was a tough one to accept. I think Rob Kanehl of the Mets said it best. He said, "Baseball is a lot like life. The line drives are caught and the squibbers go for base hits. It's an unfair game". All I can say is that it was not meant to be for us this year. Our kids worked hard everyday. They are great disclipine kids that play with all their heart and soul for their community. The toughest part of my job every year is to say good- bye and good luck to our seniors. This year seemed to be extremely tough, since I had to say it to 11 very talented and successful young men.

You will hear about quite a few of them in the next level. To O.J., Mark, Brian, Mike, Keoki, Carlos, Adrian, David, Tommy, Joey, and Ruben, we thank you for every moment you have worn the green and white. I also had to say good-bye to my assistant Sandy Guerra who is retiring after 33 years in our district and 13 great years standing next to me. I don't have a brother but Sandy was as close to one as I have ever had. We will dearly miss him and I made a promise to him that I would continue to fulfill the winning tradition that he had some much to do with. Sandy and I have been together through 294 wins in 13 years and 11 district titles.

Sandy, you deserve your own time now, because you surely have given much of yours to our kids and our baseball program. Well, Jersey fans, another successful year comes to an end and we look forward to seeing who next years heros will be. One thing for sure this winning tradition will continue because the kids want it to, the community wants it to, and with all my heart I do, too. May God bless everyone of you, and remember to keep'em swinging and touch'em all.
