From the Coach: This was too close a game for all the good work put in by our offense and by Bobby Gomez. We just made too many mistakes on the bases and on defense. The game ended with a walk to Freddy Trevino and 2 pass balls getting him to third. The coach then intentionally walked Danny Duarte and D.C. Salinas to load the bases to face Bobby Gomez. The young pitcher on the mound went off the windup instead of the stretch and his coached yelled at him to change to the stretch and he attempted to but in the process he balked and the winning run scored. We'll take it and get ready for game 2 and hopefully play better.

From the Coach: Our kids came out a lot more focused and ready to play. Last night's scare did some good and we came out hitting. Homer gave us 3 good innings and Mario Chavera came in and closed the door on any Hondo hopes. Our kids are starting to roll like we did early in the year and that's a good sign because we will need to be as good as we can be in order to beat Bandera our Regional Semi-Final opponent. We will probably play this weekend at a site close to home and in San Antonio if we go 2 out of 3. Congratulations to our kids for reaching this level of the playoffs for only the 4th time in our program's history. Folks this team plays well together and if we can get some breaks and some outstanding pitching it could be enough to get us to the big show.
