Comments: What a game Santana Mejia pitched. Valley View is one of the best hitting teams we have seen this year. Our Seniors came through tonight with all the clutch hits. Marcus Castillo's db in the second ended up being the difference in the game. This game is a game of inches as their center fielder made a stab at it but couldn't hold on to it. Game two will be tomorrow at 3 p.m. at UT Pan Am. Congratulations to our kids as they played a solid game tonight. We are going to need all of this and more tomorrow as Valley View has been down 1 game before and come back to win previous series.

Regional Quarter Final Game #2
May 22 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias Jerseys 0 0 0 4 0 0 5 - - 9 10 3
Valley View 0 0 1 4 7 0 x - - 12 7 3

Losing Pitcher: Danny Duarte, relief by Jason Garcia and Marcus Castillo
Leading Hitters: Bobby Gomez 2-3, Roli Gutierrez 2-3 2 dbs, Santana Mejia 2-5, Zeke Lopez 1-3, Reese Forest 1-1, Robby Regalado 1-2.
Comments: Thank God for a 2 out of 3 series. We knew Valley View would come to play today and I felt we would match their intensity but we didn't. We lost focus and made several key physical mistakes and several mental mistakes that allowed Valley View back in. They were too good a team to give that many freebies to. Now the test would be how we react to this loss and who would pitch.

Regional Quarter Final Game #3
May 22 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias Jerseys 2 6 5 0 0 - - - - 13 7 1
Valley View 0 1 0 0 0 - - - - 1 4 3

Winning Pitcher: Bobby Gomez relief by Santana Mejia in the 2nd.
Leading Hitters: Bobby Gomez 1-2, Marcus Castillo 1-1, Roli Gutierrez 1-3 2b, Santana Mejia 1-4, Jason Garcia 2-3, Zeke Lopez 1-3.
Comments: With their season on the line, our seniors took over and rest was history. Bobby Gomez wanted the ball and gave us the inspiration we needed to get going. Santana Mejia came in to save the game with another gutsy performance after last night. We were disciplined at the plate and got every big hit we needed to secure the series. So after 8 hours of baseball, we now advance to play Llano in the Regional Semi-Finals. Congratulations to our kids and especially to our fans. They would not let us lose game 3. The green wave took over Roadrunner Stadium and our kids felt like they were playing at home.
