Comments: Well, what's that old saying "defense wins championship". We didn't play good defense tonight and Llano came through with all the clutch hits and we didn't. In fact we left 11 runners on base and you can't do that against this type of team. Let's give our kids credit. When everything is going wrong in a high school baseball game, in most cases this leads to a 10 run rule game but our kids kept their head up high and battled back to make it a game. It was little too late and Llano played better than we did tonight and will advance to the regional finals. This team is fairly young and will return 7 starters which include 3 pitchers, so the future is bright and very promising. But let's give credit to 5 seniors that added so much to the rich history of Jersey Baseball. What a trip they have taken us through, nearly 100 wins, 3 district championships, a regional finals, regional semi finals, regional quarter finals, and one area appearance. Let's add a division one scholarship and a selection to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game to Bobby Gomez. So to Bobby, Marcus Castillo, Roli Gutierrez, Lando Munoz, and Robby Regalado we take our hat off to you all. It has been an honor and privilege to coach you and watch you grow up to be successful ball players and great young men in our community. This group had to overcome so much adversity and injuries that in most cases any normal team would not have survived the tests that life has thrown their way. I want to thank you seniors for teaching us about trust and having faith in your inner self and how to count on friends, teammates, and coaches to pull you through tough times and surviving them. But most importantly, when it was all said and done, we ended up being successful and enjoyed ourselves playing this great game of baseball.

To our Jersey fans (and you know who you are) you have followed us from La Joya all the way to San Antonio. You have traveled over a 1000 miles and saw our kids have an amazing year. i'll never forget the confidence you showed our kids through all those tough district games and that no-lose attitude you showed in the playoffs. So from our kids, coaches, and administration we thank you. There are no fans like ours. So until next year "keep'em swinging and make sure they touch'em all".

Proud and Honored,
Coach David C. Salinas

Mr. Pulido, what can I say to you sir, that I haven't said before. I'll keep it simple. thank you for all you do for Jersey Baseball. Our web page is second to none and so many people especially distant relatives enjoy and depend on you. Again thank you and before you know it we'll be at it again.
