Comments: Zapata came into town with upset on their minds and after the first innings, things did not look good for the green team. But our team has experienced all types of games in preseason and they responed well. Jason and Gilbert pitched well and we continue to hit the ball. If I can constructively critize our kids on anything tonight it would be that we left to many men on base and many times that comes back to bite you. Well, we will take the win and get ready for Orange Grove on Thursday. Winning at home during district is almost a must if you expect to win this district. Mission accomplished and now we prepare for the Bulldogs!

Comments: Our goal as a team was to continue to play with a purpose. Our kids continue to hit the ball well and take advantage of everything Orange Grove gave us. Danny Duarte continues to throw well. This team is on a roll right now and the test of time will be it's biggest challenge. We play West Oso next Tuesday which should be interesting, since they are a new member in our district and we have very little knowledge on them. But for now, we'll take a few days off and spend time with family and friends and celebrate easter.

Comments: This game brought so much excitment due to fact that West Oso was the new kid on the block and they made the playoffs last year. I knew that they had played good competition coming from district 30-3A. We got off to a good start with our kids still seeing the ball very well. Santana Mejia felt better today and tossed a 12K performance. I was pleased with our kids effort but i felt we left too many men on base and need to address this issue. Well, we now travel to San Diego on Friday for the last game of the first half of district and we are sitting in pretty good shape.

Comments: Our kids continue to play with a passion for the game. We are hitting the ball very well right now. Gilbert did another great job on the mound and our defense continues to make the routine plays. Well, that takes care of the first half of district and I am very pleased with our kids' performance. We can never be satisfied and something tells me this group will find a way to continue to motivate themselves for the second round. Well, Monday we play Sinton and that game will not take much to motivate either team. Our mutal respect will set the stage for another great game between two good 3-A programs.

Comments: I think we both got what we wanted out of this game. Both teams competed against each other and kind of felt each other out and then in the 3rd Sinton turned loose and then we exploded in the 4th and 5th and Ruben came in the 4th and slowed them down. We got some key hits with men on base and our kids showed great character on coming back in a big pride game. It has been at least 5 years since we beat Sinton. We need to take this game for what it is worth and regain our district focus and start thinking about Zapata. I know we would trade 10 of these wins for a win in the playoffs over Sinton. Their progrom has been a role model for all of south Texas for many years now and it's always special to compete against them. We now start the second half of district this Friday in Zapata and we must continue to do the little things that has helped us get to where we are.

Comments: What a game! Zapata gave us the game of the year thus far. Kirby Peredes pitched one heck of a game and his teammates just would not quit. They say defense wins championships and I tend to believe that whole heartly. Zeke Lopez, Juan Carlos Garcia, Reese Forest, and Jason Garcia made some outstanding plays to help us win a big road game. With the bases loaded several times with no outs our defense and pitching came through. This game showed what kind of character our kids have. This game will be a lesson to learn from and hopefully benefit from in the future. Tonight our kids learned that as good as they are hitting the baseball, there are going to be some nights where we hit everything at them or a pitcher has our number but there has to be no nights off for playing defense if you expect to win a championship. Well, we now get ready to play Orange Grove next Tuesday at home which is also parents night with things looking good so far at 5-0 in district with 3 games to go!

Comments: Oh no, not again! What can I say. Orange Grove played above their heads and we couldn't get the big hit throughout the game, so we did the other parts of the game better than they did and that was the difference tonight. Defense comes through again tonight. I really feel our team has reached a valley in our season and we got to get out of this valley before we go to the playoffs. The good news is that even though we did not play well, we still found a way to win. Our kids are pressing a bit and we are not swinging at good pitches in key situations. Well, we get 10 days to get ready for the next game on April 22nd. Congratulations to our kids with this victory we are district champs again. That makes 12 out of 17 years. It also was a personal milestone for me as it was my 375th win here at Falfurrias High School. There are alot of players and coaches I share this with. So on my behalf, thank you and it has been an honor. CONGRATULATIONS BIG GREEN - DISTRICT CHAMPS - 2005!

Comments: Finally we play baseball. After 10 days of no action our kids we dying to play some baseball. We hit the ball well again tonight and Gilbert pitched 3 good innings. Our kids played well after 10 days off. With the win we now can claim the district title outright. Our kids deserve everything they get because nobody in our district works harder than these kids. Baseball is a big part of their lives. They get after it all year long. We still have one more game on Tuesday versus San Diego and our kids want to be one of a few teams that has gone undefeated in district. Tuesday is also senior night in which we honor 5 great kids. It is also teacher appreciation night. Again congratulations BIG GREEN!

Comments: It was a slow starting but 2005 senior night ended in a positive note. For our 5 seniors this night belonged to them and Ruben Cisneros who was hot with the bat. Our defense was steady again and our pitching was overpowering tonight. Our kids hit the ball when they needed to. I give San dDego credit because they played with alot of character tonight. Our kids played hard with really nothing on the line but an undefeated district season. We now look for some warmup games and wait for the week of May 13th for our area matchup. Again we congratulate our seniors and the 2005 fightin jerseys the undefeated district champs!
