Comments: What a job done by our kids. We had a plan and the kids executed it. Our first goal tonight was to score and we as coaches felt the rest would take care of itself. Remember these guys had not given up but 1 run but at the same time we had not been shutout all year. Mission accomplished and what a job danny duarte did. He was backed up by great defense by Juan Carlos Garcia in center, Ruben Cisneros in right, and Mario Ramirez at shortstop. All I can say is thank God this one is over with and let's get ready for game 2 because the roughnecks will comeback swinging. Game time is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Aviator Field.

Comments: There are no words to describe the way we feel after this great come from behind win. Our kids never gave up and today an old hero got his chance to redeem himself. Gilbert Vela came in and pitched himself out of some tough jams and our defense made the big plays just like our offense did. We made the most out of our 7 hits. What character our kids have and you add that up with the greatest fans in south Texas, we become a pretty tough team to beat. We beat a very talented and explosive team in Columbia. They meant business today and our kids matched it with a big heart and never-say-die attitude. Well, we now go on to play Yoakum in the Regional Finals to start Friday at 7:30 and Saturday at 1:00 at St. Marys in San Antonio. Let's get behind these kids and push them to Austin.
