Comments: This was a big win for us. Anytime you win one on the road especially against one of the top teams is a big plus. Gilbert Vela pitched one of his best games of the year and our offense came through when they had to. Reese Forest had his best offensive night of the year and we took advantage of a bad night for Zapata. This team is better than they played tonight. We’ll take this one and run. We now get ready for Orange Grove our second district opponent.

Comments: It was nice to come back home. We played so many road games this year that it felt good being at Jersey Field. Trey Alegria pitched good enough to keep Orange Grove in check and we made them pay for their mistakes by getting some big hits after their key errors. We played good defense tonight and that made me happy. If we can put all three phases together we will be tough to beat. We now get ready for the West Oso Bears our next district foe.

Comments: Rain, rain, go away cause the Jerseys want to play. In what had to be a crazy day of weather, some how we got our game in and did our kids show up to play. We had our hitting shoes on and Jason Garcia was dominating on the mound. This win was special for me personally because it was my 400th win at Fal High. I first want to thank God for giving me good health, a great family, great players, and an administration that has stuck with me for 17 years. To all my ex-players and coaches, I thank you for all your hard work and support in making our program one of the best around. These wins are a combination of great coaching and great players that believe in one thing - Jersey Baseball. To my current team all I can say is we got a great thing going. Let's take this ride as far as we can and enjoy it before it's over. You know, it wasn't long ago that we beat Sharyland back in 1989 for my first win at Fal High and I never imaged that I would be blessed like I have. All I can say is I've enjoyed everyone of them and I plan to enjoy a few more. Again THANK YOU!

Comments: Tonight was parent's night and our kids played well in front of mom and dad. We continue to hit the ball well and we ran the bases aggressively and what can I say about Gilbert Vela. He has been solid all year. Well, that takes care of the first half of district and now we travel to Sinton for a nondistrict game on Monday. This should be a good test for our kids. We will find out more about our team in Sinton on Monday.

Comments: Well, they said all good things must come to an end and our 15 game winning streak was halted tonight by a well-coached Sinton team. We just could not get the big hit tonight and couldn't buy a break. J Alaniz did a good job on the mound for Sinton tonight. Well, the reason we play each other is to learn from the best around and tonight we were reminded that doing the little things right will win you more games than doing the big things once in awhile. We will learn from this game and get better and better prepared the next time we face a team of this caliber. Remember Jersey fans it's not where you start but where you finish and if we can just look past the clouds, we will be able to see the sun.

Comments: The game of baseball can be a very simple game to understand, but sometimes there are no explanations why things happen in this game the way they do. Tonight we struck out 12 batters, we struck out only twice and we out hit our opponent 5 to 4 hits and we lost. anyway give Zapata credit. They got big hits when they needed to and we hit the ball right at them when we needed a hit. Mendoza pitched a smart game and we didn't play as well as we have been playing. We next get Orange Grove on Thursday. Orange Grove and Zapata are 1 game behind us for 1st place so Thursday's game is a big one. We'll tee it up tomorrow and get after it and find a way to bounce back.

Comments: After a slow start our kids came alive. We hit some shots and took advantage of some miscues. Gilbert Vela with one day rest threw a good enough game. Our defense played well and we got ourselves back on the winning track. We now play West Oso next Friday due to the TAKS testing next week. With this win we clinch a playoff spot and now we work on the next goal of winning district again. Next Friday is Senior Night at Jersey Field. Comments: What a night for our seniors. Tonight we honored Trey Alegria, Reese Forest, David Munoz, and Gilbert Vela. This group of kids has been part of our program in which we have won 92 games and 4 district championships along with a semi finals and two regional finals appearances. Our kids have been working on hitting the ball with a purpose and tonight the work paid off as we got 21 hits. The win allows us to claim a piece of the district title and we now go to San Diego on Tuesday to claim the crown outright.

Comments: After a day's wait due to the weather, we got to close out the district season with a big win and another district championship. That makes 13 in the last 17 years and 4 in a row. Our kids played well defensively and got some key hits. Jason Garcia got us going offensely and Smiley Alegria got the big hits along with newcomer Mando Cabrera. Well, we now wait to play the winner of a bi district series between district 30 second place team and district 29 third place team. The area game will be scheduled the week of the 13th. We plan to play at least one warm up game and hopefully two. Again we congratulate the 2006 DISTRICT CHAMPS - THE FALFURRIAS FIGHTIN JERSEYS!
On another note, we want to wish coach Sandy Guerra a speedy recovery as he will be having surgery tomorrow. We miss him and it just wasn't the same without him by my side. Get well partner because we need you as we travel down this road to Austin.
