Comments: This was a great game with all the action that a good playoff game should have. Unfortunately for us the Pirates made a great rally at the end to sneak out a 1 run victory. Gilbert Vela pitched a great game and other than the first inning jitters and a couple of base running miscues we played a great game. Game 2 comes home to Fal and our kids and fans will be ready for the challenge.

Comments: What a difference a day makes. Tonight we hit the ball very well and took advantage of all their errors. Jason Garcia pitched a great game and our defense continues to be the difference in the series. It was a big win after a heart breaking loss last night. Now we clear the slate and go for a winner take all game at Hidalgo. We have not played there since 1991. We will see if our pitching depth will be a difference in the series. The winner will play either West Columbus or Liberty Hill.

Comments: What a game our kids played tonight. They showed a lot of character and determination. Our defense was trememdous especially up the middle with Mario and Smiley making all the plays we needed to win this one. And what can I say about Ruben Cisneros and the game he pitched. He was the difference in the pitching depth between both schools. I like to give coach Lupe Salinas and the Hidalgo Pirates all the credit in the world. They have a very good young team and they made us play with everything we had tonight. This will help us get ready for our next opponent which is no stranger to us — they are the West Columbia Roughnecks which we met last year in this same round. Our series we be played on Thursday and Saturday at a place or places to be announced. I want to thank the "Jersey Nation" as they again showed up in full force and pushed us to victory. I understand there was quite an explosion of cars honking after we made our last out here in town. It is too bad our kids could not of seen and heard it, but I'll tell all of you this: they feel your support. On behalf of our kids and coaching staff we thank you for your support and need it again this week as we play a very talented explosive West Columbia team.
