Comments: What a game. Jason Garcia and the two Mathis pitchers did a great job of keeping the batters off stride. We got the big hit finally and gave Jason the one run he needed to close the deal tonight. Tonight was one of those nights where you worry whether you passed up on all your chances. We left ten men on base and 7 of those were in scoring position. When it was all said and done all we needed was to come through once and Smiley had a big hit in the 7th after Jason lead off with a 3b. We'll take this one on the road and come home tomorrow and try to rap it up. It should be exciting to see our crowd in the first playoff game at our renovated field.

Comments: Ruben Cisneros pitched with a lot of heart tonight. After spending the night at a hospital, the young man pitched a good game on what he felt he had only 80% in him. Ruben's teammates played great defense and were patient at the plate and made Mathis pay for all their walks and errors. We now await the winner of Yoakum and La Feria for our quarter final opponent.
