Comments: Welcome back Jersey fans. We started our season at Roadrunner field at UTPA against one of the valley better 5-A teams. We also started the season with a very young team and a couple of basketball kids in the playoffs. I felt we played a good game but just couldn't get anything going offensively. We travel now to Laredo for the Border Olympics.

Comments: Crockett won the game because of the third base rule. We brought our offense tonight but our pitching couldn't hold off the Austin school. We ended up with a tie. A big part of the tournament is to find out the different pieces to the puzzle. Tonight we could find that missing piece in our relief pitching. We now play Laredo Cigarroa which embarrassed us last year.

Comments: Our kids kept their hitting shoes on and Saul Alegria settled down to give us the complete game. Our kids goal was to avenge last years loss to this bunch and their mission was accomplished. Now that we got our first win let's see how this bunch handles things.

Comments: This game was the big disappointment of the tournament. Our kids just played unfocused and we made way too many mental mistakes and United played a perfect game. John pitched a good game but we just did not help him defensively. Tomorrow we will play the best team in our pool - San Antonio Burbank. We shall see how our team reacts to a bad performance.

Comments: Our kids responded to the challenge we put in front of them. Ryan and R.J. gave us a gutsy effort and Chris Lopez hit his first career homerun to give us the cushion we needed. We played our best game up to date. We are hoping this will carry over to our next game with Flour Bluff on Tuesday. Overall we came away from the tournament pleased but realizing we got a lot of work to do before district and this team will keep you on your toes with all the youth we have.

Comments: This was a good game with Flour Bluff showing alittle more experience in closing games. I felt our pitchers did not make the difference pitch with two strikes. We just can't seem to make the closing play. We'll keep working and we will get better.

Comments: It's not how you start but how you finish that's important. That phrase has been a popular one thus far this season. This young team has to find a way to finish what they started and make plays to put rallies to an end. Our pitching has not been really that bad, it could be better if we could make some plays behind them. The bottom line is we got to grow up and play with more confidence. That will come with experience.

Comments: We took a really close look at ourselves last night and our kids found a way to become more focused to the game and just play 'Jersey Baseball' and not 'I Baseball'. Mando pitched his best game of the season and we really needed that from him. We hit the ball much better tonight. We now go on to play 9th ranked Rio Hondo, this will be a real good gauge of where we are at this early stage of the season.

Comments: This one got away early. We just couldn't make pitches and when we did, they seem to catch a break with a bloop or an error and you can't let that happen to a good team. I was proud of our kids for never giving up and rallied back to make it a game. We now get ready for our own tourney starting Thursday. We have 14 teams coming to make it a great tournament.

Comments: This was a big win for our ball club. They really needed something positive. We now play Edcouch Elsa. Saul was on tonight and we took everything they gave us. I am hoping that this young team can find some pride and get on alittle win streak.

Comments: This was a good baseball game. John Zuniga reached deep in the 4th with bases loaded to strike out the last two batters. Our kids made the most of our 4 hits. We now go on to play in the championship

Comments: John Paul has a very young talented team and R. Herrera kept us off stride all night. Our kids played hard but tonight was not our night. Even though we lost this game, this game will help us in many ways. Our young team grew up a little more tonight. We now go on to play Sinton at Whataburger Field. This will be a tremendous challenge for our ball club.

Comments: This game had a playoff atmosphere. Our kids came off the gate in a gallop but we keep finding ways to slow us down. We made too many errors for a good team like Sinton. We got to pitch better and not walk that many batters and we got to make 3 outs. Our hitting was good tonight. We could be pretty good if we could do all three things correctly and just finish a game like we started it. This was a great learning experience for our young men. We take on hidalgo next this Friday at home.

Comments: This game also had a playoff taste to it. Hidalgo will be one of the valleys 3-A reps this year and our kids fought them all 7 innings. We definitely had our hitting shoes on tonight and they had theirs to but the difference in the game was their defense played better than ours. We get another tremendous challenge on tuesday as we play Robstown. Our kids are getting better in some phases but we need to put together a good defensive game before we start district next week.

Comments: What started as a good competitive game turned into a nightmare. We seem to have one bad inning and things get away from us. I continue to be happy with our hitting and our never die attitude. We got one more game before we start district, so Thursdays game against Miller will be a big one.

Comments: As I mentioned in the previous game, this was a must win for our kids. It will do wonders for them as they play their first district game on Tuesday. We responded to an early deficit and then we had to fight our tails off to tie it and win it in the eight. It was the perfect game for us. We had all the situations a coach wants to see and see how his team would react to each of these situations. We now must show up and play on Tuesday like we know we can.

Comments: This was a great non district game before the big game versus Zapata next Tuesday. Our kids are starting to believe in their teammates and their own abilities. Robert Castillo did a great job in relief and we continue to get enough key hits and have done well on the bases. Riviera came in with a 15-3 record, so this was a great win for our young guys. This was our first 3 game win streak this year and my daughter reminded me that it was our 451 win here at Fal. We next have Zapata on tuesday which will be our biggest district challenge.

Comments: In a non-district game in the middle of district is not the best scenario but it gave us a chance to work on some things and continue the same routines. Our pitching was good tonight and we hit the ball with runners in scoring position. We now set our attention on the Hawks of Zapata.

Comments: This was a very good warm up game for us even though we lost. We got to see Saul pitch well again and Robert found out that walks will kill you and don't leave anything over the middle of the plate during the playoffs. Lando Guerra got to throw one inning after a long layoff due to an arm injury. Our kid's efforts were great as well as their attitudes. We now prepare to face Mathis for area playoffs in a one game playoff. This is the 4th year in a row that we face the Pirates and it should be a great game.
