District Game #1

Falfurrias 0 0 0 0 0 1 4 - - 5 9 3
Ingleside 0 0 6 0 3 0 x - - 9 10 0

Comments: What started as a great game with both sides showing some jitters turned out to be a big win for Ingleside. We had that one bad inning again in the 3rd. We lost two fly balls with the bases loaded and that was the story of this game. Chris Garza did a good job of hitting his spots and it took us 5 innings to figure him out. We now face West Oso at home this Friday in a big game early in district.

District Game #2
3/19/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
West Oso 0 0 4 0 0 0 0 - - 4 5 3
Falfurrias 2 0 2 4 0 1 x - - 9 12 2

Winning Pitcher: Ryan Regalado in relief of Mark Gomez in the 3rd
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 4-3 2b, JD cisneros 2-2 2b 2 rbis, Gavin Trevino 2-3 rbi, Robo Cruz 2-4 2b 3 rbis, Tommy Silvas 1-4
Comments: This was a big win for us after a disappointing lost to Ingleside. Ryan came in and did a good job of stopping the bears rally and our offense took care of the rest. Our kids continue to score runs and we are getting better at finding the right subs to stop big rallies from our opponents.

District Game #3
3/23/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 2 0 3 0 2 2 1 - - 10 14 3
Orange Grove 0 1 3 3 1 1 0 - - 9 12 5

Winning Pitcher: Ryan Regalado in relief of Mark Gomez in the 5th. Gomez came in relief in the 4th for JD Cisneros
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 2-5, JD Cisneros 3-4, Gavin Trevino 1-3, Robo Cruz 3-3 2 2b, Mike Longoria 1-2, Mark Gomez 2-4, Saul Hernandez 1-4 2b
Comments: This was a wild game. This game had a little bit of everything with both teams not wanting to give in. I feel our experience made the difference in this game. Ryan came in and did a good job of keeping us in the game and our kids never gave up and took advantage of everything Orange Grove gave us. This was a big road win for us. We now get ready to face Aransas Pass on Friday.

District Game #4
3/26/2009 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Aransas Pass 4 0 0 0 0 - - - - 4 6 3
Falfurrias 0 0 10 9 x - - - - 19 15 2

Winning Pitcher: Tommy Silvas who came in relief of Mike Longoria in the first
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 2-3 4 rbis 2-2bs, JD Cisneros 2-3 3rbis 2b 3b, Gavin Trevino 1-4 rbi, Robo Cruz 1-2 rbi 2b, Mike Longoria 1-1, Saul Hernandez 1-2, Mark Garcia 1-1 rbi, Tommy Silvas 2-2 2 rbis 2b, Matt Zuniga 1-1
Comments: This game did not start the way we wanted it to. I give my kids all the credit in not panicking. Tommy Silvas came in relief and did a good job of cooling off AP. Our kids hit the ball well tonight. Our kids adjusted the right way. We now get ready for Sinton, we hope to give them a better game than last year.

District Game #5
3/30/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 - - 3 5 3
Sinton 2 0 1 3 0 0 x - - 6 5 0

Losing Pitcher: Mark Gomez, Ryan Regalado in relief in the 4th
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 1-4, JD Cisneros 1-3, Mike Longoria 1-2, Mark Gomez 1-2, Tommy Silvas 1-2 3b 2 rbis, Saul Hernandez 1-3 rbi
Comments: This game turned out to be a good game after we settled down. The first and third inning did us in. We made too many errors in order to beat Sinton. They played better defense and ran the bases better than we did tonight. Mark Gomez did a good job of keeping us in the game and our offense gave us a chance but we couldn't get runners on base late in the game. We now get ready for Robstown this Thursday.

District Game #6
4/1/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Robstown 0 6 3 3 0 - - - - 12 16 0
Falfurrias 0 0 0 0 0 - - - - 0 2 0

Winning Pitcher: JD Cisneros, Mark Gomez in relief in the 3rd and Chris Castillo in the 5th
Leading Hitters: Gavin Trevino 1-2, Robo Cruz 1-1 3b
Comments: We ran into a complete team tonight. They pitch well, play good defense, and have good hitters 1-9 In the line up. I was pleased on how our kids played hard for the 5 innings. They just ran into a very talented ballclub which is playing very well right now. We now focus all our attention on Mathis. This is a big game for both of us.

District Game #7
4/6/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 1 1 1 0 1 0 1 - - 5 13 2
Mathis 1 0 1 0 0 0 4 - - 6 9 2

Losing Pitcher: Ryan Regalado in relief of Tommy Silvas in the 7th, Mark Gomez in relief of Ryan in the 7th
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 2-4 2b rbi, Gavin Trevino 4-4 2b rbi, Robo Cruz 1-3 rbi, Mike Longoria 1-4 rbi, Mark Gomez 2-4, Tommy Silvas 2-3 2b 3b, Saul Hernandez 1-3 rbi
Comments: What a game. Let's give credit to the Mathis kids for not giving up and coming through when they needed to. Let's also give credit to our kids for playing a great game. We just couldn't close it. Tommy pitched a great game and our defense got us out of a lot of jams. The difference in the game was we left 10 runners in scoring position and Mathis made good use of all their runners. We have to get the hurt out of our system and get ready for a good Ingleside team.

District Game #8
4/9/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Ingleside 0 0 0 0 4 0 0 - - 4 8 2
Falfurrias 0 0 1 2 2 0 x - - 5 7 1

Winning Pitcher: Tommy Silvas in relief of Chris Castillo in the 6th. Chris came in relief in the 5th
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 2-4, JD Cisneros 1-4, Gavin Trevino 2-2 rbi, Michael Longoria 1-2 2b rbi, Mark Gomez 1-3 2b rbi
Comments: What a game. Both teams did not want to give in. This time we came through with runners in scoring position with 2 outs. Mark Gomez pitched a solid 4 innings and Tommy Silvas came in and closed it. This win keeps us in the race for a playoff spot. We now focus on West Oso.

District Game #9
4/13/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 0 0 2 3 0 2 1 - - 8 15 4
West Oso 3 0 0 1 0 2 0 - - 6 9 4

Winning Pitcher: JD Cisneros, Tommy Silvas in relief in the 5th
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 5-5 2b 2 rbis, JD Cisneros 1-3, Gavin Trevino 1-3 rbi, Robo Cruz 1-2 2 rbis, Mark Gomez 2-3 3b, Tommy Silvas 2-4, Saul Hernadez 1-4, Matt Zuniga 2-3 2 rbis
Comments: This game started out like the weather we are having. It was raining errors all over the place. Our kids settled down and we took advantage of some key errors from West Oso. Ryan Regalado was hot tonight with a 5 for 5 night and a game saving catch to end a big rally from West Oso. JD Cisneros pitched a good 4 innings and Tommy Silvas finished it for us. We now wait to play Orange Grove on Friday.

District Game #10
4/16/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Orange Grove 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 - - 2 6 3
Falfurrias 0 1 0 0 4 0 x - - 5 8 1

Winning Pitcher: Mark Gomez complete game 9 k's
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 1-3, JD Cisneros rbi, Robo Cruz 1-4 rbi, Gavin 2-3 rbi, Mike Longoria 1-2, Tommy 1-2 , Matt Zuniga 1-3
Comments: We finally got to play this game after several rainouts. Our kids started out a little rusty and then took advantage of everything we could to get back into the game. Mark Gomez did a tremendous job of stopping a good hitting Orange Grove team. Mark pitched our first complete game in district and boy did we need it with 3 more games to go this week. We now focus on AP.

District Game #11
4/20/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 2 1 6 2 0 0 0 - - 11 13 3
Aransas Pass 0 0 0 0 2 2 3 - - 7 7 0

Winning Pitcher: Chris Castillo
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 2-4 2-2b 4 rbi's, JD Cisneros 3-5, Gavin Trevino 2-4 2b 2 rbi's, Robo Cruz 2-5 2 -2b 3 rbis, Tommy Silvas 3-3, Matt Zuniga 1-3
Comments: This was a big road win after a Monday night win over Orange Grove. I didn't know how the kids would respond to this game after a tough win last night. Our senior leadership came through and we capitalize on everything they gave us. Chris Castillo came through with his first varsity start this year. We now focus all our attention on the Sinton game.

District Game #12
4/23/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Sinton 0 0 2 1 4 2 1 - - 10 11 1
Falfurrias 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 - - 2 11 4

Losing Pitcher: Tommy Silvas, Ryan Regalado in relief in the 5th and Mark Gomez in the 6th
Leading Hitters: Ryan Regalado 1-4, JD Cisneros 1-3, Gavin Trevion 2-4, Robo Cruz 3-4, Tommy Silvas 2-4, Saul Hernandez 1-3, Matt Zuniga 1-3
Comments: This big game started well for us and then that bad inning rose up and bit us in the 5th. We made too many mistakes to beat a well coached team like Sinton. I felt we hit the ball well enough to win but couldn't put anything together to rally back. We now face the cottonpickers in a must win situation.

District Game #13
4/24/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 0 0 0 0 0 - - - - 0 5 4
Robstown 0 0 6 5 x - - - - 11 8 1

Losing Pitcher: Mark Gomez, Chris Castillo in relief in the 4th
Leading Hitters: Gavin Trevino 2-2 2b, Saul Hernandez 1-2, Matt Zuniga 1-2 2b, Chris Castillo 1-1
Comments: We had a good start but we just couldn't muster enough energy to pull this one out. The Sinton game just took too much out of us to perform to the best of our ability and anytime you play a Robstown team you have to bring your A game or what happened to us is going to happen. We now focus on our last game against Mathis. This Friday will be senior night.

District Game #14
4/30/2010 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Mathis 0 0 0 2 4 0 0 - - 6 7 1
Falfurrias 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 - - 1 4 2

Losing Pitcher: Tommy Silvas, Mark Gomez in relief in the 5th
Leading Hitters: JD Cisneros 1-3, Gavin Trevino 1-3, Mike Longoria 1-3 rbi, Tommy Silvas 1-3 2b
Comments: Our kids played hard for 4 innings and that monkey that has been in our dugout all year came out one more time and did us in. Mathis just played better than we did tonight. Well this brings a close to the 2010 season. I can not express how disappointed I am with myself for not being able to help these kids reach the playoffs this year. We just couldn't find a way to put 7 innings together on a consistent basis. To Mark Gomez, Ryan Regalado, Mike Garcia, Gavin Trevino, Tommy Silvas, Mike Longoria, Robo Cruz, Logan Wilson, Mark Garcia, and Roger Salinas, we thank you for your leadership, pride, and work habits, you will be missed tremendously by myself and our underclassmen. This class won 75 games in 4 years, they went to the regional finals in 07, area finalists in 08, and bi district finalists in 09. This class was special to me because I got to coach kids that were the last in a line of great brothers that played for me. For Ryan, Mark Gomez, Tommy, and Gavin you did your families proud. For Robo Cruz, he leaves with a school record of catching every pitch for the past two years an estimated 5600 pitches in a row. For Gavin Trevino he ends his career with a 9 game hitting streak and he ended the season hitting in 24 of the 28 games we played. These are just some of the outstanding accomplishments by this senior class. To our underclassmen we look forward to the future in which we will now be in 2A. We got a lot of talent coming back next year. Playing in this district will be an advantage for them. The future is bright Jersey fans. I also want to take a moment to ask everyone to pray for coach Pete Trevino who died Friday at 3:30. He had coached with our staff for 12 years and I will miss him a whole lot. May he rest in peace. To our Jersey fans, I want you to create this burning desire to return to the playoffs next year and support our kids during the summer, fall, and winter. The sun will come out tomorrow and before you know it, we will be playing Jersey Baseball again. To Mr. Pulido, I can not thank you enough for how much you help me promote Jersey baseball. You are a true fan and a great friend to me. Until next year be sure to touch them all and keep'em swinging.
