Comments: First district game and a long overdue win. Our kids have persevered a lot lately. This offensive explosion was a long time in coming. Chris looked a lot shaper tonight and we played a good defensive game. We now get ready for our tournament on Thursday.

District Game #2
3/13/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias - - - - - - - - - 37 21 -

Winning Pitcher: Lorenzo Vela
Leading Hitters: Carrasco 3 for 4, 3 RBI; T. Gonzalez 1 for 1, 4 RBI; Figueroa and Alegria each had 3 RBI
Comments: This game got out of hand quickly as you took advantage of 6 walks a couple of errors and 5 hits to jump on them for 11 runs on the first at bat. Our kids just continued to play their game as Quest's day just kept getting worse every inning. To their credit they kept on trucking no matter how bad the game got out of hand. We now get ready for our first big game of district versus Santa Rosa - Thursday in Fal at Jersey Field.

District Game #3
3/15/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Santa Rosa 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 - 2 4 2
Falfurrias 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 - 3 8 2

Winning Pitcher: Cris Castillo 11 Ks
Leading Hitters: JD Cisneros 2 for 3, 1 RBI; Matt Ramirez 1 for 4, 2 RBI
Comments: This game was another classic game vs. Santa Rosa. It just seems every time we play the game, it comes down to one run. This one took 8 innings due to tremendous defense played by both teams. Chris pitched a great game and our defense played tremendously. We had one throw at the plate, double plays, pick offs and great outfield play. In the end, our team composure and discipline was the difference as Joe David took one on the foot with the bases loaded to bring the winning run. We now get ready for Hebbronville on Tuesday for a showdown for the early district lead.

District Game #4
3/20/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias - - - - - - - - - 13 15 -
Hebbronville - - - - - - - - - 2 5 -

Winning Pitcher: Matthew Ramirez 4 Ks
Leading Hitters: Joseph Reyes 3-3, 5 RBI; Michael Carrasco 3-3, 3 RBI; Lorenzo Vela 2-2, 2 RBI
Comments: This was a big road win for us. We had our hitting shoes on tonight as we pounded out 15 hits. Matt threw a good game and our defense continues to improve. This game gives us a one game lead over Hebbronville and Santa Rosa. The win was our first in Hebbronville in a long time according to our baseball historians. We now must prepare for a tough Riviera Seahawk team in our last game of the first half of district.

District Game #5
3/23/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Riviera 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 - - 1 3 0
Falfurrias 2 0 0 1 0 0 X - - 3 7 1

Winning Pitcher: Chris Castillo 15 Ks
Leading Hitters: J. Gonzales 3-3, RBI
Comments:This had a baseball playoff atmosphere with two of the best pitchers in our district going pitch per pitch. Chris pitched a great game as did Riviera's Van Fleet. Chris had a total of 15 K's while Van Fleet had 8. John Gonzales had a break out game with 3 hits. Well this marks the end of round one and now we await the rest of the district to finish the first round. The standing are as follows Fal 5-0, Santa Rosa 3-1, Hebbronville 3-1, Academy 1-2, Riviera 1-3, Quest 0-4. We got a bye this coming week due to Starr testing. We get into action with a non -district game versus La Feria on Friday.

District Game #6
4/2/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 1 7 1 5 5 - - - - 19 15 0
Kingsville Academy 0 0 2 0 0 - - - - 2 4 3

Winning Pitcher: Chris Castillo 8 Ks
Leading Hitters: Carrasco 3 RBI; Castillo, Barrera, S. Hernandez, Cisneros, Gonzales, and A. Hernandez each had 2 RBI
Comments: Well, the second half of the season got off to a great start with a big opening win of the second half of district. Our offense got off to a slow start but adjusted to the pitching and gathers 15 hits before the night was done. Chris pitched a good game especially getting out of a third inning jam. We now get ready to take on the Marines from MMA on Thursday.

District Game #7
4/10/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Edinburg Quest 0 0 0 0 0 - - - - 0 1 3
Falfurrias 2 7 3 3 x - - - - 15 10 1

Winning Pitcher: Lorenzo Vela relieved by Daniel Arevalo
Leading Hitters: Cisneros 2-2, 3 RBI; Vela 2-2, 2 RBI; Castillo 1-2, 2 RBI
Comments: Tonight was parent's night at Jersey field and our favorite sons did not disappoint Mom and Dad. We scored early and did not look back as Lorenzo and Daniel pitched well and we also played good defense. We now get ready for a tough trip to the valley to face Santa Rosa in a critical district game for both of us. We got 3 games left with a two game lead on both Hebbronville and Santa Rosa, but kids want to win it all, so we must prepare for the challenge.

District Game #8
4/13/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 0 0 0 2 7 0 1 - - 10 11 7
Santa Rosa 5 1 0 0 0 0 1 - - 6 4 2

Winning Pitcher: Matt Ramirez
Leading Hitters: JD Cisneros 3-4, 2 RBI; Saul Hernandez 2-3, 2 RBI; Gilbert Alegria Jr. 1-3, 2 RBI
Comments: Well, Friday the 13th turned out be a lucky one for us. What started like a nightmare, this game flipped in the 5th as we put together several hits and some good at bats to earn some walks. We had left 8 runners in scoring position that really made me feel we could make a late run. Chris fell victim to several errors that allowed them to score early but Matt came in and change the game with great control and our defense supported him like they have all year long. This win and with Riviera's win over Hebbronville gives us the District Championship on back to back years and gives our program its 18th since 1991. We now prepare to go after the perfect 10-0 district record.

District Game #9
4/17/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Hebbronville 2 0 0 0 2 - - - - 4 5 4
Falfurrias 4 5 5 0 x - - - - 14 5 0

Winning Pitcher: Matt Ramirez
Leading Hitters: Cisneros, Gonzales, and Vela with 3 RBIs each.
Comments: This game started with the visitors jumping to an early lead but our kids seem to be handling falling behind very well. Our kids were patient and took advantage of every mistake and inexperience the Longhorns had. Matt and Daniel pitched well and our defense was solid tonight. Well now we get ready for our last district game at Riviera. We have our eyes on an undefeated district season and we will have our hands full with Riviera this Friday. They must win to force a playoff with Hebbronville and we want that 10-0 district season, should be a great game.

District Game #10
4/20/2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 3 4 5 2 0 8 - - - 22 17 2
Riviera 1 3 0 2 3 0 - - - 9 3 1

Winning Pitcher: Castillo 9 Ks
Leading Hitters: Castillo 3-5, 5 RBI; Alegria 3-3, 4 RBI; Jasso 3-3, 2 RBI; Carrasco 2-5, 3 RBI; Cisneros 2-4, 2 RBI; Figueroa 2-3, 1 RBI
Comments: This game had a playoff atmosphere. I told our kids this one could be a roller coaster ride and it ended up being a long ride but a fun one. Chris did not have his best stuff tonight even though he K'd 9 but Matt came in and finished the job on the mound. Our offense is hitting as well as it has all year long. Well, this completes the perfect 10-0 district season. Our kids have come a long way and deserve everything they earned. They have worked their tails off. We now get ready for two non-district games to finish the regular season. We have Laredo St. Augustine on Friday and the 92 alumni game on Saturday.
