2012 Regional Quarter Finals Box Scores

Regional Quarter Final Game #1
2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Bishop 0 2 4 1 0 0 1 - - 8 7 1
Falfurrias 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 - - 1 3 3

Losing Pitcher: Castillo
Leading Hitters: Cisneros RBI
Comments: This game had all the expectations of a classic South Texas showdown, unfortunately we didn't comply tonight. Chris did not have his best stuff and we made some uncharacteristic mistakes on the field. You can't walk batters and make errors and expect to beat a good team with a great pitcher on the mound. Loernzo came in to relieve Chris which enables us the opportunity to pitch him again tomorrow. We got to forget this one and come back and play ball the way that got us here.

Regional Quarter Final Game #2
2012 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E
Falfurrias 0 0 3 1 1 - - - - 5 8 7
Bishop 6 3 3 5 x - - - - 17 12 1

Losing Pitcher: MT Ramirez
Leading Hitters: Cisneros 1-3, 2 RBI; S. Hernandez 2-3, 1 RBI
Comments: Well, what can I say, as for the baseball game it was the same story next chapter from yesterday. You can't win any games especially against a great team making 7 errors, walking 12, and going 3 for 10 with men in scoring position. However, these stats don't indicate the heart and determination of this team. They prepared like no other team I have taken to the playoffs just for the fact that they had no superstars. I want to thank my eight seniors for making this year so special and for believing on never giving up. When we were 2-7 no one gave us a chance and because of your leadership and leading by example we got to where we got to. Time surely flies by. I can still remember when I threw most of you to the fire of District 31-3A and we took a whipping and we remembered and took the whipping back on District 32-2A these last two years. Thank you for making our time together such a blessing. We learned so much together and I believe we made each other better and most importantly we got to know Jesus Christ like never before. He has blessed us with so much this year and he will be there for all of you. So, there are no good byes, just a 'we will see later'. Jersey nation, thank you for all your support and it won't be long before we smell the cut grass, the lights on, and our hero's wearing those Kelly green and white uniforms. So til next year, remember the sun will come out tomorrow and the next Jersey baseball team will be ready to play.

Comments from Pulido: Congratulations to the 2012 Jersey Team. You showed a lot of talent and character. Thank you Coach David Salinas for providing me the stats and your commentaries all these years since 1998. I am so fortunate to see the team and the fans at the Laredo Border Olympics. Looking forward towards the 2013 season. God Bless the Jerseys!
