Comments: After chasing the rain away we finally got to play our first district game. The game was supposed to be in Santa Rosa but because of rain it was switched to Fal. Our kids had their hitting shoes on tonight and even though Daniel didn’t have his great stuff we backed him up with great defense.

Leading Hitters: Omar Pena 1-2 2b 3 rbis, Ricky Chavera 1-1 run, Jesse Villa 1-1 2 runs, Gavin Perez 1-2 2 rbis, Eli Perez 1-1
Comments: After two frustrating days of rainouts and the big game with Bishop at Whataburger field our kids took a while to get going. Spring break and no Bishop game had a big effect on the start but we put enough things together to get the win. We now get ready for Lyford on Tuesday.

Winning Pitcher: Daniel Arevalo pitched his second no-hitter with 8 k’s
Leading Hitters: Nic Garcia 2-5 2- 2b 4 rbis, Christian Regalado 1-2 2 run HR, Omar Pena 2-3 Grand slam, Eli Perez 1-2 2b 2rbis
Comments: This one got out of hand early as our kids did a tremendous job of staying patient and swinging at good pitches. Daniel dominated their hitters with his second no-no this year. We now prepare for Monte Alto which will be the first ever meetings between the schools.

Winning Pitcher: Abel Guerra
Leading Hitters: Cruz 1-3, 2 RBIs, 2 Runs
Comments: This one got out of hand quickly as our kids continue to do a great job of being patient and swing at good pitches or take the walk. Abel just dominated on the mound for 3 innings of no hit ball. A reminder that this new district has a 15 run rule after 3 innings. On the personal side according to my biggest fan my daughter this win was number 575. It’s a great day to be a Jersey.

Leading Hitters: Regalado 2-2 2b, 3r, carlos Gonzalez 1-3 3b,2rbis, Villa 2-3, Gavino Perez 1-2 2 rbis
Comments: In a whirlwind day of whether we were playing or not Monday because of testing, we finally got the call it was on at 6:30 pm in Santa Rosa. This game ended up being a typical Santa Rosa vs. Fal game that we have been used to in the previous years. We took the lead and Daniel couldn’t hang on and we didn’t support him offensively like we should have. We will use this game as a huge learning experience as we prepare for the future schedule of this district. We now find ourselves in a tie with the Warriors for first place. Our next game is next Tuesday at Edinburg.

Winning Pitcher: Nic Garcia threw 3 innings of no-no ball with 6 k’s out of 9 batters
Leading Hitters: Nic Garcia 4-4, Gavino Cruz 3-4 2b,3b: Daniel Arevalo 2-2 2b,Carlos Gonzalez 2-2 2b: Eli Perez 2-2 2b
Comments: After a week layoff our kids came to play and looked excited to play. We hit the ball extremely well and Nic took care of their offense. Next game versus Lyford is a big home game.

Leading Hitters: Arevalo 3 hits, 4 RBI; Perez 1 hit 3 RBIs
Comments: After two trips to Lyford we finally got to finish this game. We want to give a special thanks to the Lyford ISD who did a tremendous job on getting a very wet field ready to play today. Daniel was good enough to control them on offense and we continue to hit and run very well on offense. The win puts us one game up on Santa Rosa as we play each other this Saturday for what could be the district championship.

Winning Pitcher: Gavino Cruz
Leading Hitters: Garcia and Perez each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs
Comments: Wouldn’t you know it; we were back in Lyford for the third time in 5 days. Because of the rain hitting our town with over 7 inches of rain, we were fortunate to be able to play on Lyford’s field which seems to be one of the only dry fields in the area. Gavino and Jake pitched a combined no no and we kept putting men on base and getting big hits. We now get ready to start the final round of district with a big game at Santa Rosa this Saturday.

Winning Pitcher: Arevalo w/ 8 Ks
Leading Hitters: Gonzalez 2 Hits, 3 RBIs
Comments: Our kids and coaching staff was looking forward to this game since the 5-4 upset loss. Our kids came in focus and swung the bat well especially with men on base and Daniel had great control today and our defense was solid. The win gives us a two game lead with 3 games to go. We are off Tuesday and return to action on Friday versus Quest.

Winning Pitcher: Guerra 10Ks
Leading Hitters: Garcia, Guerra and Reyes each had 1 hit with 2 RBIs
Comments: We can out focused and played some good baseball. We took advantage of getting key hits with runners on base. Our defense made the plays and Abel pitched a good game for his second no-no this year. We now are co-champs mathematically. We've got a two game lead on Santa Rosa with two games to go. Lyford comes to town Tuesday night.

Winning Pitcher: Nic Garcia 7 Ks
Leading Hitters: Regalado and Guerra each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs
Comments: Nic came in and pitched a good game at the right time. We got some key hits with two outs and we ran the bases well. It was a well-played game by both teams. Congratulations to our kids who have worked hard all year long and deserved this district championship. They have 10 run rule 9 of 11 games with multiple no hit games by the pitching staff and when they lost they came back more focused and determined to finish the job. This is our 18th district title since 1991. The tradition continues.

Comments: Tonight we celebrated Parents night and Senior night. Our kids came out focus and had their hitting shoes on. Gavin pitched a great game. We now get ready for a warmup game vs. Ben Bolt at 1 in Fal.
