Comments: The 2015 season started off against a very talented CC Ray team as our opponent. Ray capitalized on all our walks, errors, and lack of holding runners. Ray coming off a win over Moody was a red hot 6-A team. The task at hand is how we will react to the outcome of this game tonight versus Edinburg and did we learn something from it.

Losing Pitcher: Guerra
Leading Hitters: Regalado 2 RBI; Arevalo & Gonzalez each had 1 RBI,
Comments: We responded with a better effort tonight. We just couldnt hold on for the big win versus a good 6-A team. We are going to have learn how to make the plays when we need to or have the opportunity to. You dont get many chances against good teams. The weather changed for the worse so lets see what tomorrow brings. We face state finalist San Antonio Reagan tomorrow morning.

Losng Pitcher: Nic Garcia
Leading Hitters: Regalado 2 RBI; Arevalo 1 RBI
Comments: 38 degrees and drizzly rain and we played with a lot of character and passion for the game. We had a big win in our hands but two key drop fly balls helped give a great team like Reagan all they needed. Hats of to Nic who pitched a great game under terrible conditions. Tournament was cancelled after this game.

Winning Pitcher: Arevalo
Leading Hitters: Pena 2 Hits, 1 Run, 3 RBI; Guerra 1 Hit, 1 Run, 2 RBI
Comments: After coming off a tough tournament in Laredo we needed something positive to happen. Well, Daniel Arevalo provided that with a no no and 12 ks. We did enough with the bats to beat our old district foe. Lets see how we react to the victory. We got a twin bill tomorrow vs. Harlingen South and Mercedes.

Losing Pitcher: Abel Guerra
Leading Hitters: Nic Garcia 2 Hits; Regalado 1 Run
Comments: We just couldnt muster anything in this game. We made a late rally at it but didnt come through. Abel didnt have his best stuff as he struggle finding the umps strike zone. We now cross the field to play host Mercedes in the second game of our twin bill. We are looking for a spark from someone to get this team going.

Losing Pitcher: Cruz
Leading Hitters: Gonzalez 1 Hit, 1 Run; Cruz 1 RBI
Comments: Well, shaking up the lineup didnt help. It doesnt matter what we do as a staff, if you make errors and dont hit you are not going to win many games. I felt today the kids were flat and didnt play to their abilities. The bad news is district starts Tuesday at Santa Rosa, but the good news is this team is very capable of playing against anyone. Faith, Fundamentals, Family, and Fun is what this team and program have their roots in.

Winning Pitcher: Abel Guerra 3 ks
Leading Hitters: Abel Guerra 2-3 2 rbis, Jesse Villa 1-2, Gavino Cruz 1-2, Nic Garcia 1-3
Comments: I didnt think we played our best ball but it was kind of expected especially after an emotional win over Santa Rosa. Abel pitched well enough to win and we got key hits with our 5 hits. We now turn around for an early game vs. San Diego.

Leading Hitters: Gavino Cruz 2-2 rbi, Abel Guerra 1-1 2b 2rbis, Omar Pena 1-1, Carlos Gonzalez 2-2 2-2b 2 rbis
Comments: After a great start offensively we just didnt keep focus defensively and let SD score their runs. Nic pitched well but I knew we had to battle and learn how to handle a late game with an early morning game.

Winning Pitcher: Gavino Cruz 3 ks
Leading Hitters: Nic Garcia 3-4 rbi , Jesse Villa 2-2 rbi, Christian Regalado 1-2, Carlos Gonzalez 1-3
Comments: This was a tough win. Laredo had a good pitcher that kept off balance for a while but our kids came through. Gavino pitched a great game and our kids played well after a long two days of baseball. We now have a must win versus Hebbronville.
3/14/2015 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | R | H | E |

Winning Pitcher: Daniel Arevalo 7 ks
Leading Hitters: Nic Garcia 1-2 2runs 3b, Christian Regalado 1-2
Comments: Daniel pitched a good game by overpowering most of the Hebbronville batters. Hebbronville played us tough and we made the most of two hits. I like that because thats a sign that we found a way to win when things just didnt go our way all the time. Mission accomplished as we advance to the championship vs. La Feria.

Winning Pitcher: Jeremey Cabral 5 ks, Leo Villarreal, Abel Guerra in relief
Leading Hitters: Daniel Arevalo 1-1 2 rbis, Eli Perez 1-1 2 rbis, Carlos Gonzalez 2-2 rbi, Abel Guerra 1-2 rbi, Nic Garcia 1-3 run 2 sbs, Jesse Villa 1-3 run
Comments: Well, we decided to throw sophomore Jermey Cabral and the rookie came through for the home team. This game showed the depth of our pitching staff as we ended playing 6 games in 4 days. We now get ready for the big game with Bishop at Whataburger field. After a tough start to the season against the mighty 6a and 5a teams, I feel our kids are prepared to battle in their own classification.

Winning Pitcher: Nick Garcia
Leading Hitters: CF Garcia 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; Arevalo and Villa each had 2 hits with 1 RBI
Comments: This game was just what the doctor ordered. We needed to face great pitching and hitting and Ben Bolt provided all that and more. The top 10 team in class 2A gave us game situations that we had not faced very often in our district. I can sleep a little better knowing our kids have turned on the lightswitch already. Abel and Nic pitched good enough and our defense made some outstanding plays. Our big hitters came through when we had men on base and that equals to a Jersey win. We now prepare forour bi-district opponent San Diego on Friday at 6:30 pm in San Diego in a one game playoff.
