Comments: The 2013 season started out with a very positive way for this young team. Daniel who figures to be our ace this year had a good beginning. We took advantage of all 7 hits and hung on for the win. We now get ready to play a good Eagle Pass team. It will be interesting to see how this team handles success.

Comments: Game two right away showed us how important it is to throw strikes against a good offensive team. Albert struggled today with control and it could be expected since he just joined us from our playoff basketball team. What we did find out was that freshmen Abel Guerra could hold his own on the mound. We now get ready to face South San Antonio.

Comments: We got after it on this game with three runs but our pitching did not hold up but we found out our freshmen pitchers could hang with the big boys. We had our chances in this one but left too many in scoring position. Overall, I was pleased with how we played. We now get ready for a great United team.

Comments: This game got out of hand right from the first batter. They found every open space in the field and hit everything we pitched up there. Their pitcher just had us unbalanced all afternoon. This team went on to win the Border Olympics. We come away with many answered questions and some still to be answered. I love this tournament cause it brings out the character of your team. We went 1-3 but I like the way this group plays together.

Comments: We came out very disciplined at the plate in the first game of the Mercedes tournament. We took advantage of the pitchers control problems and made good on all our hits. The highlight of the game was Daniel Arevalo throwing a no-no. We now advanced to the next round against La Feria.

Comments: This was a good win for this young team. Albert again struggled with control and Abel came in to stop the bleeding and lead us to victory. We continue to take advantage of errors, and walks. Our defense played a good game to help the comeback. We now advance to the championship against San Benito. It has been since 2007 since we have been to the ship in this tournament.

Comments: This game was going great for the first four innings and then the roof came crashing down. We made to many mistakes to be able to compete with this good 5a team with many returning starters from last years playoff team. We made 7 errors in the 4th and freshmen Gavino Cruz just was overwhelmed after all those errors. Overall I was proud of the team because they had to deal with missing starters due to the stock show and they fought hard with whoever was available. Making the all tournament team was our 3 freshmen Gavino Cruz, Nick Garcia, and Abel Guerra along with sophomore Daniel Arevalo. We now have to focus our attention on our first district game at Hebbronville on Tuesday.

Comments: Game one of our tournament had more than we asked for as the Knights took us to extra frames. Our kids did a good job of focusing on that extra inning and execute the offense.

Comments: Game two was a game we never thought would happen after last years decision to drop baseball in Premont, but thank God for their kids and all baseball fans our friendly rivalry continues. The game was won on the mound as their pitcher struggled and Abel just had better control. All in all is was a good game.

Comments: Game three of tourney was win or go home and our kids came to play. Daniel was his usual good and we hit the ball very well tonight. We now advance to the championship against our district foe Santa Rosa.

Comments: This game had all the familiar features of a typical SR vs. Fal game. It was a great game between two good teams. The difference in the game was defense and getting the big hit when we needed it. Getting all tourney were Darren Saenz, Albert Hernandez, Carlos Gonzalez, and Mike Carrasco.

Comments: This game had me worried because it's spring break, 12 pm start time, and we just played a late game the previous night. It was not a pretty game but we continue to show good defense, steady pitching, and making the most out of our hits. We now travel to Edinburg with a district game against Quest.

Comments: This non district game didn't start as I want it to but it did wake us up. Lorenzo is starting to feel better and he pitched a good game. We made enough noise on the bases to bring in enough runs tonight. MMA gave us a good picture in preparation for our game with Riviera this Thursday. Thursday's game is a big one for us as we are one game up on Santa Rosa and one game back of Bishop. All home games are a must in this district.

Comments: After a disappointing night Tuesday our kids came out tonight to redeem themselves and get back on the winning road. We hit the ball well, took advantage of their errors, and ran the bases well. Abel threw a good game and our defense was great tonight. We now get ready to close out our district schedule next Friday at Riviera.

Comments: This is my favorite game of the year. I get to visit with my ex-players and reminisce and I also get to show off my current team. It was also senior night and all seniors got involved in the game with the big 7 run first. Abel held his own against the big sticks of the past. Gavino came in to challenge big brother and big brother stroked a base hit up the middle. Confrontation like that one is what this game is all about. The old guys gave us some good at bats and gave us some good situations to work against. All in all it was a good night for the seniors and for the alumni. I want to thank Tydie Castillo for doing the recruiting of the players and to Jordan Garcia who donated the great bar-b- que for the fans and players. Most importantly we raised some good money for our senior scholarships. We now get ready for the Taft Greyhounds who will be our bi district opponent.
