2013 Post-District Box Scores

5/2/2013 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  R H E

Taft 1 0 1 2 0 0 x - - 4 4 2

Losing Pitcher: Arevalo
Leading Hitters: Cruz 2 hits; Hernandez and Arevalo each had 1 hit
Comments: A coach once told me, "That's why you play the game." You never know in a baseball game what is going to happen. Last night the ball bounced their way more than ours. Give them credit, they executed better than we did and deserved the win. How you reacted to failure is the key to success. That is one of my favorite quotes and it is so appropriate right now. This team has always responded well all year and I expect them to do so Saturday.

Comments: Game two was a battle of wills. The game was like a crazy roller coaster ride and at the end of the ride we come out of it with a big win. Our kids played with a lot of guts and desire. Daniel came in and provided the closure to a crazy win. Game three will again be a test of will and desire to win and advance.

Comments: Seeing the end to your season is the worst part of coaching. I give credit to Taft, they out played us in the series and wish them the best of luck. I want to congratulate my kids on a very successful season. Anytime you win 22 games with the schedule we play is a tremendous accomplishment. The credit goes to my seniors for their leadership. They had the task to lead a very young team to uphold the tradition of Jersey baseball. So to John, Lorenzo, Michael, Mike, Albert, and BB, my hats off to you guys. You have set the bar high for next year. This class of seniors were great players but also great students as 5 of the 6 were honor students and John being our Valedictorian. They also were great role models in the community as 4 of the 6 were altar servers. Well Jersey fans I know we are disappointed but God has other and better plans for us. The future is very bright for Jersey baseball as we return many starters which include our top three pitchers. We also have many talented young players from the JV that will strive to be part of the Jersey baseball tradition. I want to thank Mr. Pulido again for up keeping our web page, he is truly a great friend and big Jersey supporter. I can't wait till January 2014, so in the meantime Jersey Nation "keep them swinging and please touch them all."
